Monday Prayer Evening

Several of our church family meet together to pray each Monday evening - these meetings are open to all. Here is some info from the team:

------------------------------------

We believe that we are at a significant time in history.

We come to pray for ourselves, our loved ones, our community and our world as never before. We feel we need to fast, seek the Lord, and stand in the gap for others - to pray with groans and cries for them.

We want to be like tennis players, alert and ready to receive a served ball, not asleep on the court – which means we want to be ready and alert to hear what God is saying to us and be ready to join with him in praying for what is on his heart.

We feel that obedience, repentance and humble spirits are incredibly important.

We want to use the gifts we have each been given so that when we come together we are like the picture of a body, all with particular jobs to do which benefit the whole.

We feel that the gifts of the Holy Spirit (wisdom, words of knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, the ability to tell the spirits apart, to speak in different kinds of languages and to be able to interpret what was said ([1 Cor 12](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Corinthians+12&version=NIVUK)) are vital for this.

We remember the Great Commission:

(Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved but whoever does not will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons, they will speak in new tongues, they will pick up snakes with their hands and when they drink deadly poison it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people and they will get well.’ [Mark 16:15-18](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark+16%3A15-18&version=NIVUK))

and understand that in order to fulfil this task we need to be baptised with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
