Generate Presbytery Nominations

At our AGM on Sunday the 24 November we will be voting for two people to represent us at [Generate Presbytery](https://generate.ucasa.org.au/) meetings for the next 3 years (until Dec 2023). A Presbytery is one of the inter-related councils of the church within the Uniting Church in SA who oversee the broader missional and pastoral care goals of the that Presbytery.

What is Generate Presbytery?

Generate oversees 115 congregations who have chosen to join it across the state as well as ministry agents in Chaplaincy and other roles. This includes the largest Uniting Churches in SA and some of the smallest. They have remote congregations and faith communities and congregations in urban cultural hubs, traditional and contemporary worship styles and everything in between, all working together to see every congregation strengthened in their mission to their community. Generate holds to an evangelical orthodox understanding of Scripture and the Basis of Union.

The four key goals of Generate Presbytery are:

- Seeing people come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ

- Growing passionate disciples

- Raising courageous leaders for the future of the church

- Seeing churches planted and renewed

For more information check out the [Generate website](https://generate.ucasa.org.au/).

What is the responsibility of the Generate Presbytery Rep?

- The Presbytery Reps have the responsibility of representing Coro at Presbytery meetings (Probably up to 3 per year).

- Read papers emailed to you prior to the meeting and vote on various proposals at the meetings.

- Communicate back to the church and or/council relevant matters of the Presbytery.

Contact [Simon](mailto:simon@corouniting.org) is you have more questions.

- Approach them and ask their permission to be nominated.

2020 Vision and your response

Our 2020 vision was launched on Sunday 22 September.

We believe God has given us a clear direction for 2020 and beyond with a focus on training and equipping people at Coro for gospel ministry among their families, friends and work places.

Please watch [Simon's video](https://youtu.be/IGKY1bnEfys) and prayerfully consider your own response to this vision, particularly in the areas of financial giving and serving.

To help with this we have created some response forms (available both as online surveys and in printed form), and we would ask that you complete and return these by Sunday 13 October to enable us to plan ahead effectively.

Message from Simon

In my [video message](https://youtu.be/IGKY1bnEfys), I encourage you to listen to my recent message on our vision, 2020 Vision preached on 22 Sep (linked [here](https://www.corouniting.org/messages/2020-vision)) as well as Cat's message on generosity, Taking hold of the life that is truly life preached on 15 Sep (linked [here](https://www.corouniting.org/messages/taking-hold-of-the-life-that-is-truly-life)).

We have a sense God is doing a new thing at Coro and we are praying that God will provide the resources to joyfully pursue this vision. Our prayer is that your gift of service and finances may be as bold and full of hope as our vision.

The best is yet to come.

Simon
